Meet The Staff
Wendy Walker, LPN, CPT, LE CEO & Senior Educator
I started my love affair with the beauty industry in the early 80’s. After a couple of years as a professional model, I sought a career that would sustain me. At that time in North Carolina, working for a cosmetic company was the only option available. I became a make-up artist and joined Lancôme, eventually moving into marketing and advertising for a 20-year career. After experiencing multiple downsizings, I returned to my roots and obtained my esthetic license to begin practicing aesthetic skincare. However, the results I was achieving were not enough; being of a certain age myself, I wanted to do more for both myself and my clients. This led me to enroll in the nursing program at GTCC.
Upon graduation, I set out to train with the best in the field, earning my advanced injector certification through several programs and being mentored by Dr. David Best, MD. I also have PRP certification from the American Cosmetic Cellular Medicine Association. Since December 2016, I have served as a senior trainer and sales consultant with Everything Esthetic, Refine USA (aka Rejuvapen), PureSpin PRP, PBF, PRF, and The Perfect Derma Peel. In October 2021, I joined Les Encres Threads and recently became part of Artemis to explore the world of lasers with the T Shape 2 skin-tightening device.
Sharing all that I have learned is a passion of mine; I can hardly call it work. I continually train with other professionals to bring you the latest techniques. When I’m not working as a spa esthetician, I enjoy a relaxed lifestyle on my small horse farm in NC.
Gretchen Mallekoote, CPT, LE Administrator & Educator
After over 15 years working in optometry patient care, I was ready for something new. I went back to school to obtain my esthetic license and began working as a spa esthetician, providing facials, chemical peels, waxing, and brow and lash treatments.
After my first year, I joined Wendy as an administrative assistant and esthetician in the spa. Wendy took me under her wing and trained me in Microneedling, PRP, and advanced chemical peels. From there, I started assisting her in trainings and eventually became the trainer for some of her classes, including those focused on advanced injector certification.
I quickly realized that I enjoy the training and teaching of other peers, and that my administrative skills are always prominent in whatever I do. So those roles are my main focus now. My wish is to provide both our clients and our peers the best aesthetic skincare experience possible when working with us.

I have quite the passion for aesthetic skincare. Growing up around this field has made me aware of the extensive effort and dedication it takes to cultivate great relationships while achieving excellent results for my clients.
Graduating in 2018 from Leon’s beauty school with honors, I then went on to actively and passionately continue my education with advanced classes year after year, including obtaining my advanced injector certification along with certifications in micro-needling, advanced peels, derma-planning, and PRP. This ongoing education has helped me build and maintain the knowledge necessary to meet all of your aesthetic needs as a skilled spa esthetician.
